In our faculty subjects related to health communication are present
not only at research level, but also at didactic level: we can find courses both in Bachelor or in Masters
programmes. The aim of these courses is to provide theoretical and methodological grounds and tools
useful for an analysis of communication in the field of health.
In particular, in the Bachelor program, professor Domenighetti’s course deals with the
communication of health institutions in relationship with their mission, organization and operation.
As far as the Master program in Comunicazione Istituzionale is concerned, a major in Health Communication
began in the academic year 2004/2005, including six courses: Comunicazione sanitaria I e II, Epidemiologia,
Introduzione alla medicina per i non medici, Social Marketing, Promozione della salute, Organizzazione
e finanziamento dei sistemi sanitari. Moreover, the students of this major can work actively with the
Institute as research collaborators, in order to reinforce their knowledge of health and to put it into
practice. A second opportunity offered to the students is the possibility to spend one or two semesters
at the Marketing Department of the University of Virginia Tech without any additional costs.
Always within the faculty of Communications Sciences, the Institute of Communication
and Health offers to PhD students several courses on research methodology and data analysis (for instances:
Pragmatics of Data Analysis, Quantitative methods in the study of discourse and Argumentation).
In the field of didactics, the Institute of Communication and Health is also collaborating
with the University of Medicine of Brescia (Italy) to offer an executive Master on health communication.
Further information will be available soon.
